History
Curabitur ligula--Since 1998, one ambition was set by the British and the Egyptian governments, that ambition was the formation of the British University in Egypt (BUE) that could produce graduates of UK standards to enter key sectors of the Egyptian economy. A group of UK universities, led by Loughborough University, will provide the academic direction, teaching and quality management processes thereby ensuring the 'British' quality of the education. Curabitur ligula--

BUE welcomed its first cohort of students in September 2005 when they began their degree studies on a brand new state-of-the-art campus. Further developments now completed include a large-scale auditorium and conference facilities, a new library, staff buildings, and a recreational complex. Located in El Sherouk, the University campus covers approximately 50 acres (feddans) of land. Curabitur ligula--

The BUE is focused on encouraging personal integrity and academic excellence alongside fostering forward thinking philosophies, innovation and teamwork spirit. Being research led, the British style of education focuses on making students learn how to think; not what to think which encourages students to develop problem-solving and analytical skills through the personalised and independent approach to learning. Employers regard these skills highly. Curabitur ligula

BUE is not only an educational institution, but also a thriving social and cultural centre with much to offer students of any age, nationality or social background. Curabitur ligula--

The University operates within the framework of the UK Quality Assurance Agency and provides degrees in a similar style and to an equivalent standard to UK programmes. The BUE and Loughborough University (LU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
